This service is strictly for users 18 years of age or older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Who may use FLIP
- You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract to create an account.
- Everyone you invite into a care circle, family members, helpers, guides, must also be 18 or older.
- The community, AI coach, respite booking, and all assessments are designed for adults and are not age-appropriate for minors.
COPPA compliance
The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) applies to services directed to children under 13 or that knowingly collect their personal information. FLIP Care Companion is neither: it is an adults-only caregiving tool, we do not market to children, and we do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from a child under 13.
Do not enter a child's information
The care recipient in FLIP is expected to be an adult (typically an ageing parent, spouse, or relative). Please do not create a care profile, medication list, vitals log, or emergency plan for a minor, and do not include children’s names, photos, or health details in community posts.
If a child's data reaches us
If we learn that a user is under 18, we will close the account. If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided information may email privacy@flipcareapp.com, we will confirm and delete within 30 days.
Teen caregivers
We know young people help care for loved ones too. If you are under 18 and carrying caregiving responsibility, please involve an adult who can hold the account, and reach out to a school counselor or a local caregiver support organization for help. In a crisis, call or text 988 in the US, or 911 for emergencies.
